Artists Statement
In my work I try to combine my experience as a printmaker with hand building techniques and the ongoing challenges of throwing and glazing ceramic forms. The surface texture and pallet reflect my love of the Arts and Craft movement. Nature and organic forms dominate my functional and decorative pieces. I prefer a porcelain clay body, high fire method and favor earth tones or black and white. I admire Wedgewood and employ a matt finish on most work. My passion for art history and discovering ways to replicate nostalgic shapes and forms has led me on this journey so far.
