Andrew P. Bridges, Fall '74, has announced a gift of $25,000 to endow a scholarship in memory of Professor Charles L. Babcock. An attorney with Fenwick & West LLP, in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, Mr. Bridges represents a wide range of technology, Internet, and consumer products companies in litigation and strategic risk counseling, especially relating to new technologies and business models. In making his gift to the Centro, Mr. Bridges noted that "Fall 1974 at the Rome Center was a turning point for me and has provided enduring pleasure and satisfaction. Charles L. Babcock was a consummate professor-in-charge, challenging and inspiring us to absorb all that Rome and Italy had to offer while also providing rigorous instruction in our classes. His joy of teaching and delight in Rome were wonderful, and I treasured his friendship."
"Reading the news of my Stanford friend Bill Grueskin's recent leadership gift inspired me to step up, and I hope others will consider doing so as well," said Mr. Bridges.
Mr. Bridges serves on the ICCS Advisory Board as well as the Board of Trustees of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. He chairs the Advisory Board of the Stanford Law School Program in Law, Science and Technology, where he is also a non-resident fellow. ICCS is most grateful to Mr. Bridges for his generous gift.
