Hollis Hurd, Spring '70, has made a generous contribution to ICCS to endow a fund for the ICCS library. The new books and materials purchased with the fund will be known as the "Hollis Hurd Collection," and they will provide Centristi with state-of-the-art research resources.
In making his gift, Mr. Hurd commented that "The spring of 1970 was an astonishing class at the Centro, not only for the faculty (Edward Togo Salmon in particular) but also for the students' comaraderie and love of Classics. It enriched my education in ways that no other experience could have and has influenced my life ever since. I don't even mind having an arrest record in Rome (we had no idea it was illegal to play soccer on a nearby lot where all the Italian kids played).”
ICCS appreciates the enrichment to our library provided by Mr. Hurd.
